Video: A Day on Granby

My original intention was to film the flash mob performance, but when I hit Granby, there was so much more.

It's alive.

The last day of the art installation in downtown Norfolk made for an interesting outing – artistic Norfolk came out to play. Thespians, music lovers, and art supporters filled the square of Granby and College in a festival celebrating the Art Everywhere project. Showings included a flash mob, dancers, folk singers, and other musicians to name a few.

Virginia may be for lovers, but Norfolk is for the Arts.

ABOUT THE WRITER
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Bryon grew up around art. With both parents having an educational background in fine arts and teaching, it was only natural for Bryon to follow a path of creativity. After attending high school, where he focused on media and arts, Bryon earned a BA in Fine Arts, focusing on Graphic Design and Photography from Norfolk State University. Currently Bryon is pursuing a MA in Media Management and producing/directing short films. He strongly believes that art is an ever-changing idea that evolves like opinions should. If justifiable, then it can be considered as art. It is beautiful to a group of viewers and not necessarily to the creator. The viewers make a work of an art a masterpiece. Just because one has made a drawing does not mean they have made art.
