Doing this website has made us broke as a joke.

Which means that if we wanted to buy our families new gifts, they’d be getting things like Goldie Hawn’s autobiography from the 99¢ bin, or maybe a brand new can of beans. We don’t want to do that to them, so it’s gonna be a Thrift Store kind of Christmas here at AltDaily.

For what it’s worth, we’ve got no shame in saying that we buy the majority of our clothes from thrift stores. It lets us buy more for our money, it counts as some vague form of recycling, and every thrift store I know supports a truly noble organization; like the Salvation Army, Goodwill, or CHKD.

We stopped by the JCOC in Virginia Beach a couple Saturdays ago for their ‘$8 Bag of Clothes’ day (every Friday and Saturday, fill one paper bag with as many clothes as can fit, for just eight bucks). In the spirit of encouraging you to think about shopping thrift stores this holiday season, here’s a (very vain) photo series of what we got.
