Please Touch the Heavens

This sculpture, made from 960 24-mm galaxy super-high bouncy balls, creates from this angle an outline of a dove in the negative space within. It was created specifically for Spirit in response to its prompt, “Illuminate the Intangible.” As I created the piece, I was listening to “Laughing With” by Regina Spektor, which inspired its creation. And I was also inspired by a Virginia-based comedian, Brett Leake. I came away from his show with the insight that “We need things to not make sense… Absurdity illuminates meaning within the common.”
