Artist Statement
A friend told me once that passion was an uncontrollable emotional mixture of love and hate and that human emotion is powerful and fragile at the same time. This is what I look for in my subjects. I am drawn to stories that show human struggle, conquest, and the full range of human emotion. Struggle and conquest is the very thing that connects us all. When all is said and done, I learn something from my subjects. Hear Our Prayer is about the passion of the human heart.
Hear Our Prayer
Everyday at 7:00 a.m., Saint Luke Catholic Church doors are open to those who seek more from the normal church routine. It is open for those in need of counseling and forgiveness. It is open for those who want to be made whole again. During the mass, everyone lifts their hands to heaven and silently ask God into their hearts. They come in broken and leave hopeful and spiritually nourished.
