Photo Series: Our Many-Legged Friends

Out on a Leaf

This photo was taken at the Norfolk Botanic Gardens. I was sitting on the ground photographing a weevil on a black eyed susie, when this little jumping spider jumped on to the leaf of the same flower. He stalked the weevil for a bit, and moved out to the far edge of the leaf. The weevil ended up falling off the plant.

ABOUT THE WRITER
Keegan is a Unix Systems Administrator living and working in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. He started photography in early 2008, and it quickly became his primary hobby. He ventured in to macro photography, and discovered a world he'd never seen before. He quickly learned that insects and spiders are quite fascinating, and when scrutinized closely, are actually quite beautiful. Most of his photos are taken either at the Pagoda in downtown Norfolk or at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.
