Instead of taking the lights down in January, Montreal keeps them shining until spring when the leaves return. This tree transforms a deserted street corner into a work of art–no RFP or big budget required. Lesson: A small project can make a big difference.

ABOUT THE WRITER
Grant works with Norfolk Southern Intermodal, helping companies reduce their logistics costs and cut the number of trucks on our highways. In 2010, IEDC recognized him as the world's youngest certified economic developer.
