You find a way to incorporate your illustration, graphic design, and even block printing into your work for The Virginian-Pilot. Have you always merged the three or was it an evolution?

I’ve always had the attention span of a tse tse fly. At work, I’ll do whatever solves the problem at hand. As I get older, though, I’m happiest making personal art with found junk. It’s a lot more fun because I get lost in it and have no idea where it will end up.
