Where do you think the line blurs between photojournalism and fine art photography, looking at it from both an objective and personal perspective?
I don’t think there is truly a blurring of the lines between photojournalism and fine art photography. They are one in the same, they exist on the same plane. However, the photojournalist aims to document the truth through a representation of an objective reality while the fine art photographer has the option to extend beyond objectivity and incorporate his or her own subjective perspective on any given subject. Both forms of the medium can be displayed in a gallery and objectified as fine art. In my work, I’m constantly working to mature and wed the objectivity of photojournalism with the aesthetic quality often seen in fine art.
