Friday Featured Artist: Erik Jones

“I am a big fan of simplicity. When a figure is motionless, directly centered, and stands alone, it seems to hold an artistic integrity. Meaning the beauty of the piece is coming from the sensitivity of the artist, not the shock or wow appeal from shit all over the composition.  Also, as most people would agree, the eyes are a window to the “soul” (whatever the hell that is); when you can lock eyes with a figure in a painting it feels like the painting has more of a presence.  Maybe, I dont know, It just feels right to me.”
