High schoolers are graduating, Fathers are celebrating, and teachers & students are throwing their hands up in excitement, because Summer has officially begun. There’s plenty to do to make this weekend one for the history books.
Here’s a list of what to do:
Thursday
Dirty Barbie and Other Girlhood Tales

“Spinning tales on scarlet fever, scotch over ice, and girls gone wild,” this one women show will have you laughing, crying, and laughing again. Denise Stewart will delight and entertain you.
HRBOR Third Thursday

Come meet new people with the Hampton Roads Business Out Reach (HRBOR). This month’s shindig will be hosted by The ODU Gay Cultural Studies.

From rapping on the mic, singing, getting you hype, and even signing some autographs, he is known for shutting the place down. Hang out with him and DJ 666 A.M.
Spring Sunsets on the River

Experience the live aggressive folk rock that is: Mercy Creek. Their “earthy, edgy music,” will have you feeling at one with nature as you listen during a beautiful sunset on the Hermitage lawn. As usual, there will be some light fare and libations.

I’m sold.

An Evening with Chef Chris Hill

For foodies and fun seekers, here is an event that will not only have you tummy feeling good, but also your heart. Enjoy a “taste of the south” in tapas created by Chef Chris Hill and have a portion of the proceeds donated to the American Red Cross. Besides the delicious food there will also be live music and dancing.

Wanderlust is a new play written by Jeremiah Albers (AltDaily Family) & Brad McMurren (From the Pushers) all about you. They have it covered, from Oceanview to the Oceanfront you’ll see traces of the people and places that make up our home. Come check it out, this weekend as it opens at the Generic Theater!
