Politics, Like Reading, Goes From Left To Right

What’s up dudes,

So the wolf has finally gotten rid of the sheep coat and shown her true nature.  Let me change that.  She never really wore the sheep clothing, she never pretended to be anything other that what she is.  Speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi has finally come out and said that he doesn’t care about bipartisanship.  One of the loudest voices who screamed about coming together has finally stated the words that everyone has always known about her, she doesn’t give a damn about anyone other than herself.

She doesn’t even really care about the messiah, (that would be the new President for those of you who don’t know).  This really doesn’t boad well my friends.  You see, guys like me love to point out the hypocrisy of member of the left.  While a lot can be said about my feelings toward about Obama, he has tried to at least make the attempted to appear to be bipartisan.  Ms. Pelosi on the other hand hasn’t even tried that.  She has shown her distain for the right.  She has bullied, bad mouthed, disrespected and just plain shown contempt for this country and what should be the democratic process.  While she was in the minority, she cried about her voice not being heard, not that she is in the majority, she states, that she won, and everyone now has to do whatever she wants.  It’s her turn and we just better follow her lead.  Seriously, what kind of bull crap is that?

The arrogances that she has shown, as well as other members of the left is what made me turn from a person who interned at the Environmental Planning Lobby back as a junior in college to a person who really has a problem with liberals. Let me tell you a quick story about a young Alfredo Torres.

Back in 1989, I was a young, eager college student who deeply wanted to get into politics.  This was back before the Navy, and before radio.  I did an internship with the EPL and then did a second internship with the New York State Senate.  It was there that my roommate at the time was sitting in a senate finance meeting and watched the State Senator from his home district remove the budget from a volunteer fire department because they took a picture of their board of directors and didn’t invite him.  The quote was, “Lets see them afford the film for the picture next year.”  The senator was a democrat.   This was the quote that got me out of politics for the next 10 years.  How much different would my life had been if I had never heard that quote.

I probably would have started working for some lobbying or political action group.  I would have ended up going from an ambitious, wide eyed, young man set to change the world, into….well a Puerto Rican version of Nancy Pelosi, and that my friends, isn’t pretty for anyone.  So here I am, almost 20 years later, a registered independent and political conservative, trying to convey the ideas that I believe today to people think with their hearts and not their intelligences.  Not to say that they are not intelligent, but there is a difference between arguing your point with your mind and arguing with your emotion.
