WWJD?

So you and me have both been in that situation.  You can do that which would provide both personal gain and be easiest, or, you wonder, should you could act like an ancient Jewish radical.  That is to say, in a given instance, one has their own instinct, or, then again, what would Jesus do?

In short, Jesus was best known for two things, the first of which is the idea that love and kindness in the community combined with forgiveness of sins was more important than a strict adherence to the finer points of Jewish law.  Secondly, Jesus was known for taking the sins of the world on his own shoulder and basically taking brunt of the consequences for the evils of mankind.  But in reality, the love and letting stuff slide isn’t important in the end, since as long as you know, without a shadow of a doubt, in your heart of hearts, for absolute sure, certain no matter what, Jesus took the dive for you, you’re good to go.

This is why we believe in Jesus.

So, with this in mind, as the bracelets beg of us, What Would Jesus Do?  In any given situation, what might Jesus do that was different than what we would do?  Let’s go ahead and examine three different dilemmas the aformentioned deity might have to deal with.

1. You’re in high school, walking down the street, and three bullies ambush you. One punches you in the face. What Would Jesus Do?

Turn the other cheek.

Turning the cheek may have unintended consequences, like if you get hit a third time or more.

2. You are telling your friends that God loves us all and that faith is more important than tradition and the government. Some people from your community and representatives of the government stop by and advise you such talk shouldn’t be continued. What Would Jesus Do?

Keep up the good work.

At least there’s a nice view from there.

3. You walk past a construction site, and some folks ask you to help move some wood for them. What Would Jesus Do?

He’d give them a hand and help them move them move it from one place to another.

Just remember to lift with the knees and not over do it

On second thought, maybe the hellfire and suffering aspect of Christianity isn’t the way to go. Maybe we should just be as nice to each other as we can, while doing what we have to to preserve our own happiness. In closing, if I’ve offended anyone, forgive me.
