Nothing Like A Verbal Kick In The Ass To Get You Out Of Bed

What’s up dudes

You know, nothing dictates you day like how you wake up.  If you had a wonderful nights sleep, and are gently shaken out of an incredibly sound slumber, it is almost euphoric in feeling.  It almost makes you feel like a child who is slowly coming out of a magical dream world and carefully being re-introduced to life, surrounded by a warm, cozy environment that is easing you into a bright new day that is full of promise and adventure.

However, when you are brought out of that peaceful slumber suddenly, it sets the tone for what is going to be a day full of piss and vinegar.  That day that was full of promise is now full of chaos.  There is no hope.  There is no sunny day.  There are only cold winds and grey skies.  It’s a dark world, where the task master awaits you with whip in hand ready to put the boots to your sorry ass.  Obviously, I didn’t wake up in a good mood this morning.

Sleep is incredibly important to me.  I don’t get enough of it.  My military life required me to have to get by on very little sleep.  Two or three hours were enough for me to be able to function the next day.  My body learned fast to wake up and get moving.  To this day if I get a couple of hours of sleep and something wakes me up, I’m done sleeping regardless of how tired I am.  This is why it is important for me to try to wake up in a good mood.  Tired and cranky is no way to go through the day.  However, when you’re in a relationship, it tends to make matters worse.

I find it hard trying to make sure that I’m not a dick in the morning.  Doesn’t make much sense for the first thing for you to do when you wake up is to yell and scream.  It only puts you’re partner in a bad mood and now you spend the rest of the day trying to make up for it, and besides, you’re breath stinks and no one wants your halitosis being blown in their face while you blurt out your stream of obscenities, however my other choice doesn’t fair much better.  I don’t say anything.

That’s right.  I just sit around with this pissed off look on my face and don’t say anything.  I fear that if I do, the old latin temper will flair and then I’ll just make things worse.  So I sit and stew, thinking about what I have to do today and how this sullen mood might affect the people I have to interact with and the chores that I have to undertake.  I wish that I could just go back to bed, but that’s not a choice.  Sometimes, morning just suck, but at least I have something to write about now.
