These nuclear aircraft carriers sure are expensive. Especially once their useful life has come to an end. Note to self: never buy an aircraft carrier.
Census workers to carry identification in neighborhoods
I worked for the 2000 Census, and it was one of the sweetest gigs I’ve ever had. Fantastic pay, flexible hours, and best of all: they gave me a parking pass that let me park anywhere except a fire line. They also gave me this little black Census bag that couldn’t be taken from my person or opened, even by a federal judge. I remember thinking to myself that a drug dealer could have a pretty sweet life once every ten years.
Sour economy will green up Town Center – temporarily
This is not a park. It is an open, public, green space. Just to reiterate, not a park.

No, this wasn’t an actual headline today. But as I head out the door and make my way toward Richmond I just thought I’d mention it. Happy April 1st.

The stink from the landfill has been around as long as I’ve been back living in this area; fifteen years, at least. 664 by the coal piers (and wastewater station right next door) often stinks a lot worse.
