AltDaily and Generation Norfolk seek to assemble a shared economic advisory team.
The founding purpose of this team will be to advise Generation Norfolk on how their program should be structured to best facilitate small business development and economic advancement for the greater Norfolk community.
In addition, AltDaily will also, from time to time, ask members of the economic advisory team to explain, in layman’s terms, economic and business development issues facing Hampton Roads, the nation, and the world. Issues could range from clarifying the definition of ‘debt ceiling’ to explaining why there are so many more ice cream shops in Ghent than in Downtown Norfolk.
It is expected that team members will have an expertise–if not necessarily a formal education–in one or more of the following areas: micro & macro economics; small business development; accounting; business legal; business marketing; city planning; finance; and leadership.
Requirements will be limited to a one-hour meeting every other week (or less) until Generation Norfolk is launched; and answering one question every other week (or less). There will be other opportunities for publication and to appear on panels, but these will be above and beyond our expectations.
Interested candidates should send an email to gennorfolk@gmail.com & jesse@altdaily.com, talking a little bit about your experience, business or economic philosophy, and why you’d like to be involved.
Thank you,
Generation Norfolk & AltDaily
