What’s up dudes,
The beach has a lot of local music history. Places like the Bayou and Rouges and the original Peppermint Beach club gave locals awesome places to play. Anyone who has lived here for any amount of time can tell you story after story about watching one of their favorite local bands play these places. Some can tell you stories about how these bands played for some national acts. Some can tell you stories about drunken hook ups after a show, all can tell you about the great times that had playing on the beach.
Well one of the greatest places on the beach for local music is bring it all back. Peabody’s. That’s right. Peabody’s. The place of the Ramones riot back in the early 80’s. The place that has had local bands playing since 1967. They have decided to bring back live local music to that famous Peabody’s stage with doors opening at 7pm this Thursday. They are starting it all off with two incredible bands. Toque will open up at 8:30 and headling will be none other than local favorites and permanent good time band, Jackmove.
With all the local music places that are closing down on the strip. It’s both impressive and important that Peabody’s has decided to reopen their doors to local bands every Thursday night. Even more important is that with the tourist season getting ready to start, Peabody’s is looking out for the local fan also by making it free admission for all local’s till 11pm. Go this Thursday and get a VIP pass with gives you free admission anytime.
Peabody’s is embracing it’s past while looking toward the future of the local scene in Virginia Beach. With a top notch sound system provided by Fidelity Sound, local bands can have the experience of not only playing a historic venue but can also be a part of keeping local music on the beach and alive in VB. Peabody’s is located on the corner of 21st Street and Pacific Avenue down in VB. Make sure that you guys turn out this Thursday and support local music down at Peabody’s.

Well that’s good news.
Must say, I’ve only been there once—and I was definitely not yet using my own ID—but it seemed really clubby. ‘College Night’ish, if you will. Guess I was wrong?
What kinds of bands do you think they’ll have? What kind of shows?
