Re-post: Norfolk City Guide

When I first moved to Norfolk, I figured the novelty would wear off after a few months – like any city.

But it didn’t. Three years later, I’m still finding new and exciting adventures all over the city. One of the things I love so much about Norfolk is it’s ability to cater to any lifestyle.

Our fair city.

One of my favorite design blogs, Design*Sponge, features a weekly city guide. Week after week I’d see these famous cities known for their renowned architecture, legendary nightlife, or distinct cuisine and thought “Norfolk’s got that! We need a city guide!”

I don’t consider myself the Norfolk Know-It-All by any means, but I have spent a lot of time eating, entertaining and shopping my way through Norfolk, so I thought I’d offer up my ideal “Norfolk City Guide.” You can see the full post over at Design*Sponge.

With an ever-changing city like Norfolk, I’m not sure this guide will ever be complete. There are a few places I forgot to mention, a few new places that have emerged and there will undoubtedly be more soon that should be added to the list. But then again, isn’t that what makes a city great?

Ashley, Thanks so much for your efforts in maintaining an ongoing blog regarding the great city of Norfolk. I’m from fly-over land, i.e., Minnesota and visit ORF regularly. I love it. Thanks again.

I’m one of the newbies that would love to be added to the list:
The Style Shoppe of Ghent located at 803 & 807 Shirley Ave. (just off Colley Ave. around the corner from the Naro and behind Red Dog Saloon). Please stop by when you get a chance :)
