Hyping Movies That Won’t Be Out For Months Is Wack

wildthingsare-fl-01So the trailer for Spike Jonze’ version of Where The Wild Things Are looks amazing, doesn’t it? This is after months of drama drama drama about release dates, reshoots, and the studio apparently not wanting to release a family movie as dark and scary as the one Jonze made in the style of, you know, the beloved book. Now it looks like the movie really is coming out in October the way Jonze made it. Hooray! Dude, seriously, just this trailer made me want to cry. If the movie turns out a tenth as awesome it will still be pretty good. Maurice Sendak likes it, and he is a very prickly old man. Also, indie kids, Arcade Fire for the trailer music. Whatever.

Ha. I saw this right after I posted a story in features.

Now when you are looking at the homepage, you see a top story on Where the Wild Things Are, and your blog post right below calling us wack. Great.

But seriously, yeah, this movie is going to be AMAZING. Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers are my heroes.

ABOUT THE WRITER
George Booker is writing this about himself in the third person. He was considering second person, maybe making this the "Bright Lights, Big City" of bios. He was looking into casting Micheal J. Fox in the forthcoming film adaptation, as the disabled actor would likely portray him with ample charm, sympathy, and fifty-something boyish handsomeness. Recently, however, Booker has realized that only Anne Hathaway or Chiwetel Ejiofor could really capture his essence. Late 20s, Norfolk raised music writer. Former DJ and production head for WVFS Tallahassee, former staff clerk at defunct Norfolk music stores DJ's and Relative Theory. Current Film Editor and Contributor to No Ripcord Magazine, contributed blurbs to Link and Port Folio Magazine.
