Video Blog: Dana and Hannah Do HarborFeast

Town Point Park is becoming quite the place to be this month, and Thursday night was no exception.

Thursday was the second annual AT&T HarborFEAST seafood sampler, a kick-off celebration full of great seafood and drinks. AltDaily’s publisher, Hannah Serrano, and I had the opportunity to attend, eat, and drink as the sun set over the harbor.

We chose from an assortment of wines and went with Our Blue Dog Chateau Morrisette from Floyd County, Virginia. The fresh, locally-harvested seafood was provided by the Virginia Seafood Council.

HarborFEAST is a labor of love. It started as an idea by volunteers years ago while they were crab picking. Now it is a celebration of local seafood and drinks. HarborFEAST has turned into a regularly anticipated event and even sold out in 2010.

HarborFeast, however, is only the first of many great events going on at HarborFest this weekend, including fireworks on Saturday at 9:30 pm, performances by the Indigo Girls, Phil Vassar and others, and tours of the sail ships starting at noon on Saturday.
